About

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my site. I’m Kari, a freelance writer based in the metro Atlanta area. I’ve been amusing, educating and inspiring readers for nearly 15 years and I seriously love what I do.

As you can see from clicking on my samples, I’ve written about everything from marketing to credit scores, from vaping to stomach viruses. (Hilariously, that norovirus piece was my first article to go viral, spreading throughout Cox Media’s news outlets as fast as the actual bug.) I’m a research nerd who enjoys dissecting complicated subjects and reassembling them into content anyone can understand.

While I enjoy flexing my voice to fit different style guides, my heart will always gravitate toward parenting-related projects. My most enjoyable long-term gig was penning an award-winning, slice-of-life column for our local newspaper, and later, writing for the AJC’s parenting channel. I credit my beautiful family for that: I’m mom to three amazing sons and one delightful daughter, each gifting me with unending streams of writing material and questions that need answering—now!

The kids and I share our crazy little home with the most patient dad on the planet and several adorable dogs ranging in size from XS to XXL. Traveling is a love planted in me as a child and enhanced during my husband’s years of military service, so we indulge in it as often as we can. I’m a great cook, Food Network and HGTV junkie, and have learned the hard way that crafting and buying craft supplies are actually two entirely different hobbies.
