Is it even appropriate to say “Happy” Memorial Day? I wonder about that sometimes.
I do know that I am happy to live in the best nation in the world, and I am not ashamed to call it that.
Thank you to every soldier, sailor, airman and Marine who died to give me liberty.
May we never forget the price you paid for us.

I like the way you said this – I’ve felt the same way, Kari. Very somber holiday to me. I, too, thank our service men and women for giving their all so that I am able to live in freedom. Our Lord gave his all – his Son, Jesus for our ultimate freedom. But since that time, the next example of giving of oneself is a serviceman/woman. Thanks for posting today’s blog.
